News > Lusso chef is shortlisted for a prestigious industry gong
Ben Garnett-Sinclair, a chef de partie at Lusso, has been shortlisted in the Young Chef category for the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2017.
Ben made a real impression when he first interviewed as an apprentice chef, aged just 17, and he hasn’t stopped. Now aged 21, he’s as true rising star of Lusso and the industry. He has already caught the eye of the Craft Guild of Chefs, having scooped the Apprentice Chef Award in 2015.
His managers describe him as a ‘sponge’, always wanting to learn and progress, and showing passion, drive and creativity at every opportunity. He also gives back to the business by mentoring for our Chef Academy and representing Lusso in culinary competitions.
Paul Hurren, Lusso’s managing director said: “Ben shows confidence, enthusiasm, experience and creativity beyond his years. He’s a key member of the Lusso team and most definitely an executive chef of the future. He absolutely deserves this recognition and we wish him the very best of luck for the awards night.”
Ben said of his success: “I’m so excited to be nominated for this award. The Craft Guild of Chefs is a respected body and to have made an impression on them is fantastic. It just goes to show what you can achieve with the right guidance and support! I’m really looking forward to the awards night and having the opportunity to meet some of the best chefs in the industry.”
The Craft Guild of Chefs Awards take place on 1 June 2017 at the Westminster Park Plaza.
