News > Paul Hurren is shortlisted for the Foodservice Caterer of the Year Catey!
The talent and achievements of Lusso’s managing director, Paul Hurren, have been recognised by the judges of the hospitality industry ‘Oscars’ – The Cateys. He has been named a finalist for the 2017 Foodservice Caterer of the Year category.
The Foodservice Caterer of the Year Award will go to an individual in the private or event sector who has made an outstanding contribution – a statement that more than applies to Paul.
He is a driven, committed and well-liked individual whose love of high-quality food and outstanding service inspires the Lusso team and drives its success. Under Paul’s leadership, Lusso enjoyed its most successful period ever in 2016, securing £48.7m of new and retained business, and continued to develop innovative partnerships and initiatives, such as the ‘Pig Tales’ sustainability project in collaboration with Surrey Docks Farm and The Food Philosophy.
Championing careers in foodservice and hospitality is also important to Paul, both within Lusso and the wider industry. He is committed to giving his teams the opportunities to develop and progress their skills, confidence and careers. And, as chair of the Association of Catering Excellence (ACE), he focused his tenure on the ‘Next Generation of Future Leaders’, engaging the millennials and nurturing young talent in the sector.
Paul Hurren said: “The Cateys is such a respected award scheme that to be nominated for this award is a fantastic feeling. I’m very lucky in that I get to do a job that involves two of my favourite things in life – food and people. I work with an incredible team and without their enthusiasm, creativity and skills, Lusso wouldn’t be the success it is and being shortlisted is recognition for them too. I thank them all for their support and I look forward to what is sure to be an exciting awards night.”
The Cateys 2017 awards dinner takes place on Tuesday 4 July 2017 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London.
